the reason you’re still getting ingrowns with waxing
I know you’ve all heard about how waxing helps prevent ingrowns. so why are you still getting ingrowns when you stopped shaving and started waxing?? I know very irritating, but it is simple. ingrowns are caused when the hair gets trapped underneath the skin. with waxing we are removing the hair from the root which means it will grow in thinner and slower. since the hair is thinner it is not as strong as before so if youre not exfoliating deadskin will build up and the hair will not be strong enough to get through thus causing an ingrown hair. now if youre saying, “but im exfoliating and im still getting ingrowns”. you must also understand that it can take some trial and error to find what works best with you skin and to get into a skincare routine. exfoliating should be done 2x-3x a week and moisturizing should be done 1x-2x daily.
why waxing alone doesnt prevent ingrowns
while waxing will still help with ingrowns in comparison to shaving, our biggest helper is going to be aftercare!

moisturizing

how often does waxing aftercare need to be done?
lets break it down
exfoliation is 2x-3x a week (about every other day)
before or during showering is best
moisturizing is 1x-2x daily
if you are using a chemical exfoliator instead of a scrub or wash you can use on dry skin after showering and before moisturizing
